Yet another stretch goal, and some more bases!
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 26, 2019 at 08:21:50 PM

Stretch goooalllsssss!!!!!

Well, we got another one! This time it's the epicly creepy (and angry) undead bear, with lots of exposed entrails and bones, and a broken jaw - a perfect complement to the existing armored/polar bears - I know I'm gonna weave that into my story, particularly with the undead and ice magic the Ice Sisters wield! As usual, this guy is 100% supportless.

Here's a pic of him painted by Ryan @ Cephalopod Studios - Ryan has done much of the amazing mini painting you have seen in this campaign. He'll actually be live-stream painting one of the Ice Sisters tonight on His Twitch at 7pm CST - I encourage you to check it out, and follow their Twitch Page!

--------------------------

For terrain we have some "rock spines", inspired by the "Spine of the World" mountains from the Icewind Dale / Forgotten Realms world. These are pretty large, and the big one prints in 2 pieces and can be fun for some mountainous scenarios. Currently I have the "regular" ones done but will be doing versions with snow on them as well.

---------------------

Other Stuff

I had a few folks ask about the Walrus God Aspect from the last stretch goal, to see if I could provide a  none-armor/adorned version - so I added the regular 'ol Giant Walrus in.

------------------

I also had a few folks who play Kings of War ask about square bases - I've typically focused basing solely on the RPG crowd, and standard inch base sizes, but of course I would love these models to get used wherever they can add value - so to that end I made a set of square bases in 3 styles: blowing snow, cracked snow, and  cracked ice. These differ from my normal beveled bases in that they have a simple square edge and come in 20mm, 25mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 75mm sizes. They are all 3mm thick, but can be scaled in the Z direction easily enough, without ruining the design, in your slicer if you want them thicker Check em out on Thingiverse HERE

New Special Stretch Goal Unlock + New Prop
over 4 years ago – Wed, Sep 25, 2019 at 01:20:38 AM

This campaign is going wonderfully and I'm having a blast, and I hope you are too! One of the things I love to do is provide amazing deals for my customers while still being able to flesh out a fun project - and so fare we have OVER FORTY supportless minis at least that many pieces of terrain.... all for $25 all-in! I hope you are all as excited about what's come together so far in this project as I am, and I promise you'll enjoy some of the pic surprises at the end of the campaign should it continue to grow (so help share when/where you can!)

Extra Awesome Stretch Goal Unlock!

This one is one of my personal favorites from the campaign - I wanted to do some walrus folk and came across this amazing artwork by Evgeniy Ognarev of some Thanoi and I had to reach out - Evgeniy agreed to allow me to create some 3D versions of these awesome guys, and also did some additional concept work to help flesh out their god-aspect giant walrus! Check out the translation of concept art to 3d (supportless!) models:

The walrus god aspect is large and totally awesome on the table and totally awesome  and one of my favorite models from the campaign. Check out how cool it is painted, courtesy of Ryan over at Cephalopod Studios

 ---------------

We also added a broken, snow covered wagon for terrain.

I'll post some painted pics of the wagon and walrus folk in the next day or two!

-------------------

Another Free Prop!

I love props so here's another free, themed one for your printing pleasure! It's a carved walrus tusk - depicting an arctic theme with beasts (a yeti perhaps?) and hunters - with some runic designs, and has a hammered & riveted metal casing over the end. It prints as a single piece upright and supportless, on both FDM and resin printers - and paints up quick/easy. Download it on Thingiverse HERE right now!

New Unlock, Some Pics, and Planting Some Trees!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 23, 2019 at 11:49:30 PM

Hope you are all doing great! Have some fun stuff to share today:

New Unlock - some watery goodness

The last unlocked stretch goal brought some floating ice shelves on the terrain side! There's 3 unique ones that should make for some fun icy water encounters. They can also be used as regular-ol terrain as well, of course!

I also added in a piece related to last stretch goals that I forgot about - the awesome stairway from the Ice Palace!

Also have some new minis of course - a breaching and "cruising" Orca! Killer whales are not small critters, and as such these guys are natively based on 3" bases  Enough to scare the crap out fo anybody in a small boat!

Coming up next is one of my personal FAVORITE stretch goals in the campaign with a pretty cool surprise included! Please share and promote the campaign where/when you can so we can get more stuff unlocked! It's doing great already but I have some REALLY awesome stuff in store for the end.

Photos!

Renders are awesome but nothing beats actual pics, so here's a few shots of some items I finished up over the weekend. Yo can see the awesome ruined portal with the Eye of Frost guarding the entrance, and the igloo with a Yak chilling in front, about to be turned into a snack.

--------------

Free Model!

My friend Ryan Beasecker, who is the owner of Hero's Hoard - also known as curufin on thingiverse, just released a cool free broken ice bridge you can download/print now - check it out HERE.

--------------

Guilt-free 3D Models! (and saving the planet)

Ryan (the owner of Hero's Hoard) and myself wanted to do something to help the growing deforestation problem that is affecting many portions of our planet. To that end, this month we are donating 100% of revenue from the heroshoard.com website to the Arbor Day Foundation - and each $1 equates to a new tree planted! Some of you have asked about the non-EC3D items from Hero's Hoard, including True Tiles - that are not included as possible add-ons for this campaign. If you wanted to get any of those, including some awesome buildings, tile and terrain sets, or any of the EC3D stuff without having to wait till the KS and funding period is over, you can do so now guilt-free and help a great cause!

If you have never taken a look at what is available on Hero's Hoard, now is the perfect time! Again, this effort is going through the end of September and ALL sales from the site are being donated, so check it out!

Longship, Dire Penguins, Bases, and More
over 4 years ago – Thu, Sep 19, 2019 at 01:04:14 AM

Stretch Goal Unlocked!

This is a fun one! We get a very detailed longship, adorned with dragon motifs and elaborate carving.

-------------------

We also have a couple of Dire Penguins! These guys are fun, but will beat the crap out of your players!

-------------------

Dire Penguin Stat Blocks!

I have teamed up with Kyle over at It's a DND Monster Now , who - as the name implies - creates awesome, balanced, DND monsters (among other types of content)! Kyle is going to stat out these bad boys for us so the DND 5e players among us can drop em into their games with very cool, custom abilities. Be sure too check out It'sADNDMonsterNow's Patreoon for tons of awesome, cool, custom monsters - and i'll be sharing the stat blocks later in the campaign when they are finalized!

Free Bases On Thingiverse

As I have in my past campaigns, I released the bases I have created for the minis on Thingiverse for your everyday basing needs! There's a great variety, and you can download them on thingiverse HERE.

---------------------------

Painted Armored Bears

My friend Ryan over at Cephalopod Studios has been painting up some of the minis from the campaign. He did the ice tribe, which are displayed on the campaign page, but I LOVE the way these bears turned out and wanted to share. He's working on some additional ones that have not yet been unlocked but will be soon and I'm very excited to share.

HUGE update with more unlocks, free models, and more!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 16, 2019 at 11:37:40 AM

The campaign rolls on full steam ahead, faster than I imagined! I can't believe we have already doubled the size of the all-in reward content already, only one week in! I have always strove to give my supporters the absolute best value, and bang-for-your buck in my campaigns, and the Wilds of Wintertide is proving to be no exception (thanks to your amazing support!)

More Unlocked Stretch Goals

Since I last posted an update a few days ago, we have unlocked THREE more stretch goals! We got into some hunter/fisherman terrain and minis to flesh out more of the ice peoples, including an igloo and fishing boat, and started into the Ice Sisters' Palace - with some of their undead Wight generals,  the ancient Sisters themselves (one a crone and one a beauty), some unlucky frozen adventurers, and some of the terrain to build their icy sanctum! I also finalized some of the "work in progress" designs, like the Yaks. Scope it out below and let me know what you think in the comments!

--------------------

OpenForge - Icy Dragon Skull Cave Entrance

For those of you who are not aware, I am a contributor to the awesome OpenForge Project, where Devon Jones and I create tile sets, scatter terrain, and more - supported by patrons, but release for free to give back to the community. Today I just released a new design, that is themed to go great with this Kickstarter - and you can download it on Thingiverse right now HERE . You can see some renders and shots of it below, featuring some of the unlocked Wights!

-------------------

Depths of Savage Atoll FINISHED - The Fleet is Complete!

My last Kickstarter, Depths of Savage Atoll, had over 400 models in it. Just yesterday I finalized and delivered the last model from the campaign, which happened to be the large galley that I lovingly named "The Devil's Scorn". I'm immensely proud of this last campaign, particularly the awesome fleet of seagoing vessels, and wanted to share a few renders of them all together. If you have been considering an add-on to snag this awesome campaign, you will not be disappointed!
